For those who want to explore their 'inner foodie. Learn how cheese is made, what to look for in a quality olive oil, and most importantly how to really impress your friends in the kitchen!

Join us for a tour of the beautiful Margan Kitchen Garden. Our horticulturist will be on site to share information, provide gardening tips and assist with selecting and harvesting produce. This will be followed by a hands on cooking school (1½ hours) with one of our senior chefs.

And to finish, enjoy the fruits of your labour with a relaxed 3 course lunch in the restaurant with matching Margan Wines. Bookings essential.

Sip 'n' Snap

If you consider yourself a photographer with a sharp eye and a great palate then Tulloch Wines, as part of Food and Wine Month, are running a fun and challenging photographic competition.

Your 'creative brief' is to shoot the front cover of a Food and Wine Magazine. You can choose from a range of props at the Tulloch Cellar Door and using the camera provided, capture your masterpiece on film.

After that it is over to the judges, with the winner's picture published on the Tulloch website as well as in the next edition of Hunter Valley Breathe Magazine. Who knows, this could be the start of a new and exciting career!

First Creek Wine Workshops

First Creek Wines are offering a two-hour Wine Workshop designed for beginners or enthusiasts alike to gain a little insight into the world of wine.

The workshop will begin with a tour of the winery and bottling line, before sitting down to a tasting of wines chosen and lead by one of the First Creek Winemaking team.

There will be a maximum of 12 people per class, so bookings are essential.

Your counselling session will involve the slightest bit of history and technology that will allow you to dive into a long term and loving relationship between cheese and wine. And once you have mastered all the skills we will put it all into practice with a wine and cheese lunch to beat them all!

Goldfish Hunter Valley Cocktail School

The Pokolbin region is best known for the great wines it produces and as such has long been referred to as "Wine Country".

In keeping with this Goldfish will be conducting a cocktail school that will focus on wine based cocktails & how wines can be used in the creation of cocktails. Attendees will be able to participate in making the cocktails & come up with their own ideas & creations to road test.
