For the aspiring “winemaster’ or those of us who just want to know more.

Learn more about your favourite wine variety, the different characteristics the vineyard can produce, and the essential steps in the winemaking process. This series of events will be hosted by Hunter Valley winemakers and wine educators in small groups, allowing an in depth understanding of the various attributes of Hunter Valley wine.

Barrels & Blending Weekend

Experience wine blending and barrel work first hand as some of the Hunter Valley's wineries throw open their doors and invite you to be a part of the fine art of winemaking.

It's the time off the year when blending reds is in full swing so come along and be part of the process.

First Creek

First Creek Wines are offering a two-hour wine workshop designed for beginners or enthusiasts to gain a little insight into the world of wine. The workshop will begin with a tour of the winery and bottling line, before sitting down to a selection of wines chosen by the First Creek Winemaking team. There will be a maximum of 12 people per class.

First Creek Winemakers Challenge

With Vintage now over First Creek winemaking team invites you to a celebration lunch and to challenge your wine blending skills.

Start the day with a bacon and egg sandwich and a glass of bubbles, tour the winery and learn about the winemaking process and sample from tank and barrel; warm up with barrel rolling, grape stomping and wine spitting then dine in the winery with wintery soup, pasta and desert married with First Creek Wines.

Over lunch, join the Hands On Lending Challenge, with the winning team receiving the prestigious Winemakers Medal.

Allandale Winery – 10 Years of Allandale Semillon

Allandale is offering our guests the opportunity to join the Allandale Winemaking staff in an intimate tasting evening.

The vertical tasting will be 10 years of Allandale Semillon, allowing guests to taste wines some of which we have less than a dozen left and will never be released again.

Hosted amongst the vats in the winery, you can see where it all begins to the finished product. You will be the first to taste our 2011 Winemakers' Reserve 'Creek Flat' Semillon, before it has even been bottled.
