The Winemaker's Table Series For the aspiring... or well established ‘winophiles’ and ‘foodies’! This series of lunches and dinners are intimate occasions. Hosted by a leading winemaker, they will select a range of their favourite wines that will be matched by a Hunter chef who will talk you through their creations using local produce. Bookings are essential. Participating wineries and restaurants to date include:
Tulloch Wines & The Cellar Restaurant Available each Friday night during June, you will enjoy a five course menu matched with a range of Tulloch Wines. You will have the opportunity to talk with Chef Andy Wright, and ask those tricky wine questions from a Tulloch Wines team member. $120 per person. Places are limited to a maximum of 20.
Indulgent Degustation Dinner at a Snail’s Pace with Calais Estate Head Chef, Jon Heath has designed a gorgeous menu using fabulous local produce including snails, duck and venison. Hosted by Matt Dillow (chef & owner) of The Verandah Restaurant and Helen Dyball of the Hunter Valley’s Snails Bon Appetite, the evening begins with a glass or two of local bubbles and delicious canapes including Oysters Erotica and Potato & Leek Soup with Truffle Oil.
“Cool Wine, Hot Climate” Winemakers Dinner at De Bortoli Learn how “ORGANIC” farming in the vineyard and “hands off approach” in the winery combine to deliver our philosophy of producing wines that are a “natural expression of the vineyard”. Enjoy a three course meal with wine and a surprise or two served in a casual environment with emphasis on having fun!

‘Tonneau to Table’ A Degustation Dining with a Difference Before dinner winemaker Usher Tinkler will conduct a cellar tour, wine blending session and tasting of new release wines from the Poole’s Rock portfolio. Taste straight from French oak barrels and discover the winemaker’s secrets, then stroll through the vineyard to dine at the award-winning ROCK Restaurant, your menu personally introduced by the chef; the accompanying wines by their maker. *Tonneau: a large oak barrel.
A Flaming Winter Feast with Tyrrell's Wines
McGuigan Wines Annual Dinner Indugle in the release of our new vintages, accompanied by the culinary talents of Chef Jean-Marc Pollet of the Hunter Valley Steak House. Dress is Lounge suit/semi-formal.
Ballabourneen & Tatler Wines at Tatlers Restaurant Daniel will join you for dinner to discuss winemaking and answer your questions about the mystery, tradition and beauty of wines from the Hunter Valley and around the world. Guests will also receive a complimentary bottle of wine to take home with them.
The Mill Restaurant and Allandale Winery Alex Woods, Winemaker at Allandale will host the evening, sharing with you his knowledge and passion of wine with seven Allandale wines over the course of the evening. Start the evening with canapés, followed by a dégustation dinner by Scott Smith, Executive Chef will join discuss you before each course to discuss the ingredients and preparation. Each course will be married perfectly with Allandale wines with discussions about wine & food matching by the Chef and Winemaker; an opportunity for foodies and wine lovers to unite.
Redsalt & Ballabourneen Winemaker’s Degustation Table The wine & food has been specifically selected to showcase the talents and quality of the Hunter Valley’s new generation of fine cuisine and regional wine styles. This is your opportunity to discuss winemaking techniques, Hunter regional wine styles, food selection and preparation with the expert creators of this special Winemaker’s Degustation Table.
Hungerford Hill Winemakers Banquet at Muse Restaurant & Cafe Guests will be treated to a degustation menu paired with Hungerford Hill wines that will feature both new and museum release wines. Guest numbers limited to 30.
